Organise a winter barbecue}

Winter is here again! When you get out of bed and look out of the window, you can see the frost on the roofs and car windows. It hasn't snowed yet, but who knows? Perhaps for you the winter period will soon be over, but for us it is the beginning of many pleasant moments. Think for example of decorating your interior with a beautiful atmospheric fireplace, or updating your garden with a sturdy fire basket! Finally, we at Firepit-online.com are huge fans of tasteful winter BBQs and therefore we hope to convince you with this blog to cook outside.

Organising a winter barbecue

Before you can start working in the garden to make the most delicious dishes, it is necessary to make a few preparations.

1. A barbecue

For a winter BBQ you obviously need a barbecue. At this moment it is probably somewhere under a layer of dust or maybe you don't have a barbecue at all! Dust off your BBQ or search online for the best BBQs. In our 'outdoor cooking' category, we have a wide range of various beautiful and functional barbecues. The BonFeu BonBiza is not only great for barbecuing, but can also be used as a fire bowl where you can stand around it cosily with everyone. The brand OFYR has various products to put together a complete outdoor kitchen for the enthusiasts among us.

2. Mood lighting

Brighten up your garden with beautiful decorative lighting to create a cosy and warm atmosphere. Because it gets dark quickly, you can see the lighting well and enjoy it optimally. On our website we sell nice Swedish torches of Esschert Design which are very popular during the winter period. Cosi also has fun atmospheric lighting for both indoors and outdoors. They have several Cosiscoop gas lanterns in the colours black, white, olive green and much more...

3. Heat element

If you don't have a BonFeu BonBiza and therefore no fire bowl or fire basket to provide extra warmth during barbecuing, you can also choose various heat elements in the garden, in addition to mood lighting. A warm jumper, fleece blankets and a cup of mulled wine will warm you up enormously, but an elegant fire pit from La Hacienda or garden fire from GardenMaxX can give you just that extra bit of comfortable warmth that you need.

4. Food and drink

An essential part of barbecuing is, of course, food and drink. As already mentioned, mulled wine is a good start, but hot chocolate for dessert does not sound bad either. A good glass of red wine or special beers for around the barbecue and while eating are definitely recommended.

For the barbecue, you can of course make it as crazy as you want. We are fans of a combination of meat, fish and vegetable dishes on the barbecue. A traditional recurring meat dish for us is homemade spicy chicken satay. A fish dish that fills our stomachs is a salmon on skin with a slice of lemon and finally, for our portion of vegetables, we choose a vegetable skewer. What are your favourite dishes? Is your mouth watering already?
