The first sunny days of the year are often the moment people start thinking about their garden again. After winter, it may look a little untidy and garden furniture or accessories are often still stored away. With a few simple steps, you can get your garden ready for the outdoor season and make the most of spring and summer.
Start with a garden tidy-up
After winter, your garden may have collected quite a bit of debris, such as leaves, twigs and green algae on paving. A thorough clean can instantly make the space feel fresher. Start by sweeping the patio and mowing the lawn, for example. Clearing things up first gives you a good base to start arranging your garden.

Put garden furniture and accessories back in place
Many garden furniture items are stored away or covered during winter. Spring is the perfect time to bring them back out and give them a good clean. Check that everything is still in good condition and replace any parts or accessories if needed. Think of new cushions, plant pots or garden lighting to give your outdoor space a fresh look.

Add colour to your garden with flowers and plants
Plants bring colour and life to any garden. Choose varieties that bloom for a longer period so you can enjoy them throughout the season. You can plant them directly in garden beds, but pots or containers on the patio work just as well. This also makes it easier to change the layout of your garden later on. Did you know that our fire bowls are sometimes used as plant containers too? Even without a fire, they can make a striking decorative feature in the garden.
Create a central spot in the garden
In many gardens, a natural gathering spot tends to form, such as a lounge area on the patio or a dining table in the garden. It often becomes the place where people linger in the evening and where the garden really comes to life. An inviting seating area encourages you to spend more time outdoors. Place a fire pit in the centre and you will likely find yourself staying outside longer. Or choose a stylish fire table for a more refined look.
Add warmth on cooler evenings
Although spring days can already feel pleasant, evenings can still turn chilly. A heat source in the garden makes it easier to stay outside longer. A fire pit, fire bowl or outdoor fireplace not only provides warmth but also adds atmosphere. Did you know that many of our fire products can also be used for outdoor cooking? That means you do not have to head back inside during a cosy evening outdoors.
If you place a fire bowl or fire pit in your garden, it is also worth considering the material. This affects not only the appearance, but also how well the product withstands different weather conditions. Want to know what to look for? Read Which fire bowl suits you?

Giving your garden a refresh in spring helps prepare it for the months ahead. With a tidy base, some greenery and a comfortable place to sit together, your garden quickly becomes a space where you will enjoy spending time again.
