- Proper maintenance ensures a lifetime of enjoyment, so clean the grill properly. Start by wiping away grease and food residue while the plate is still hot, then rinse the plate with hot water. Do not use soap and never soak or submerge the plate! Dry the grill thoroughly and rub it with a thin layer of oil before storing it.
