Precision and yet versatility? The Arthur pellet grill gives you countless possibilities and yet the accuracy you need. By using food-safe wood pellets, the barbecue heats up and you prepare various dishes. The three grill grates at different heights make it possible to prepare different dishes at the same time. 

How does a pellet grill work? 

A pellet grill is a simple and clean way to barbecue on “ real ” wood. But how do you use a pellet grill in practice? 

1. Connect the barbecue to a GFCI socket.
2. On the left side, fill the pellet holder with food pellets. 
3. Turn on the barbecue and set the desired temperature via the control panel or app. During the first ignitions, keep the lid of the pellet container open. 
4. White smoke will appear during ignition. This is normal and signals the start of pellet combustion. As soon as the barbecue starts heating up, the lid can be closed.
5. Use the temperature gauges provided to measure the temperatures of the ingredients. 

Good to know: if no cooking or smoking mode is set, no ignition will occur. If no ignition has occurred, switch off the barbecue using the on/off button, switch on again and select a mode.

Cooking with a pellet grill 

Cooking, baking and grilling on a pellet barbecue gives you other options than other types of barbecues. Pellets provide a lot of heat, but also release them gradually. This allows the temperature of the pellet grill to be determined and maintained more accurately. Slow cooking is therefore a cooking technique that can be easily performed with the pellet grill.  

The Grill Boost zone also gives you the opportunity to grill meat or other food short and intensely. 

What are wood pellets? 

A pellet grill or pellet barbecue is a barbecue that works on small wood pellets. These pellets are small pressed pieces of wood made of waste wood. Because of the natural slab called lignin which is in wood, the wood sticks together. This is formed into grains of about 3 cm each by a high-pressure press. 

The advantages of firing on wood pellets 

-Efficient combustion: due to the pressed wood, the efficiency of a wood pellet is approximately 80%. 
-CO ₂ neutral: the CO ₂ released when burning the wood pellets is approximately equal to the CO ₂ that the trees absorb again. As a result, CO ₂ emissions are almost zero. 
-Almost complete combustion: the wood pellets are almost completely used up during combustion. This leaves little residual product or waste. 
-Subtle smoke flavor: the wood pellets give a subtle smoke flavor.
