    FORNO Fire Bowl Bocca CortenSteel

With this FORNO fire bowl Bocca you bring a true eye-catcher into your home. With 3 different diameters of 80, 100 and 120 cm, this 4 mm thick Corten steel fire bowl is guaranteed to give you cosy and atmospheric evenings.

Fire bowls made of 4 mm thick Corten steel

The fire bowl is made of a copper-containing type of steel (Corten). Corten steel is also known as weather-resistant steel. Characteristic of Corten steel is its brown-orange rust colour on the one hand, and its long lifespan on the other. The lifespan is so long because the first layer of corrosion stops further damage by rust so that painting is not necessary and maintenance is very low. The more you use the fire, the more beautiful it becomes. An important property of Corten steel is that the fire bowl will not rust through and can therefore be left outside in all weathers.

    Available in three different sizes!

The FORNO fire bowls are available in three different sizes, so there is always a fire bowl that fits your garden. Not only the diameter of the garden fire bowl varies in size, also the height increases as the bowl gets bigger. The FORNO garden fire bowl is available in the following diameters: 80, 100 and 120.

The FORNO Fire bowl CortenSteel in short:

Please pay attention to the following!

Attention: It may happen that a certain type of outdoor fireplace or fire bowl made of Corten steel is not delivered with a rust look. You may initially think that you have received the wrong product. Nothing is less true though. If you place the garden fire outside, then humidity and/or rain will very quickly create a first layer of corrosion. Often the manufacturer delivers the garden fire bowls with a recognisable corrosion layer, but it also happens that the steel is still smooth and the first corrosion has yet to appear. But do not worry, this goes very quickly.

How does the rusting process of Corten steel develop?

The rusting process takes place in several stages. At first, a light and uneven rust layer develops, with an orange-brown colour and sometimes visible spots or streaks. Over the course of several weeks to months, depending on weather conditions, this layer gradually becomes more even and develops a deeper brown colour. Eventually, a dense protective oxide layer forms. This layer slows down further corrosion deeper into the steel, helping to protect the underlying material.

How hot does a fire bowl get?

Temperatures can become extremely high. The fire itself can quickly reach 600°C to 800°C, while the rim, base and sides of the fire bowl can also become extremely hot. Never touch the fire bowl with bare hands during or after use, and keep children and pets at a safe distance.

Where should I place my fire bowl?

Place your fire bowl on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface, such as heat-resistant paving stones (for example granite or basalt) or gravel. Keep a minimum distance of 1.5 to 2 metres from flammable materials and objects, such as your house, fence or overhanging branches. Before use, check whether any local fire or burning restrictions are in place in your area.

Can I leave my fire bowl outside all year round?

Yes, our fire bowls are made from high-quality materials that can withstand all weather conditions. However, the lifespan may vary depending on the material. To keep dirt and moisture out, you can cover the fire bowl with a suitable protective cover or lid when it is not in use. This will help extend its lifespan, but it will not prevent rust.
