An atmospheric space with infrared patio heating
With an infrared heater, you can make your spot in the garden or under the canopy cosy and atmospheric. Choose from many types of patio heaters such as floor-standing, hanging or wall heaters
What is infrared patio heating?
Infrared patio heating is a modern and efficient way to comfortably heat outdoor spaces such as terraces or gardens, regardless of the outside temperature. Thanks to advanced technology, this form of heating provides direct and targeted warmth without wasting energy on heating the air.
How does infrared heating work on a terrace?
Unlike traditional patio heating, which heats up the ambient air, infrared heating uses electromagnetic beams that deliver heat directly to objects and people in their reach. This means you feel the heat almost immediately as soon as the heater is switched on. The infrared rays warm your skin and nearby objects, resulting in more efficient and faster heating, even on windy days. These heaters are suitable in both open and enclosed outdoor spaces.
What are the benefits of infrared patio heating?
Infrared patio heaters offer numerous advantages.
- Firstly, they are energy-efficient because they give off heat directly without heating the surrounding air. This reduces energy costs and waste.
- In addition, infrared heaters heat up quickly, allowing you to enjoy a pleasantly warm patio immediately. They are more environmentally friendly than gas heaters as they have no emissions and consume less energy.
- Moreover, they are easy to install and use - lots of user convenience!
Is Infrared Patio Heating Safe?
Yes, infrared patio heating is very safe to use. Unlike open flames from fire pits or gas heaters, infrared heaters are fully enclosed, emitting warmth without any flames. They are built to strict safety standards with low radiation levels, making them ideal for high-traffic outdoor areas, including those with children and pets.
How Much Energy Does Infrared Patio Heating Use?
Infrared patio heaters are known for their efficient energy use, which is generally lower than that of other heating methods. Because infrared heat is directed toward objects and people rather than dispersing into the air, it minimizes energy waste. Typical infrared patio heaters consume between 1200 to 2500 watts, depending on the model and environment. Compared to gas heaters, which are often more energy-intensive, infrared heating can lead to significant long-term cost savings.
What Types of Infrared Patio Heaters Are Available?
Various models of infrared patio heaters are available to suit different outdoor setups. Ceiling-mounted heaters are great for covered terraces, wall-mounted models save space, and freestanding heaters offer flexible placement. Each type has distinct benefits, from delivering targeted heat to blending seamlessly into the surroundings. Popular brands like Eurom and Sunred offer both budget-friendly and high-end options.
Are Infrared Patio Heaters Suitable for All Terrace Types?
Yes, infrared patio heaters can be installed on nearly any type of terrace, but some factors are worth considering. Covered or semi-enclosed terraces benefit most from infrared heaters, as the warmth is better retained. On open terraces, it may be wise to choose heaters with higher wattage to offset potential heat loss due to wind. In such cases, high-power gas heaters may also be suitable. Check out our setup tips for best results.
Consider installation height and placement to enjoy the best warmth distribution. For example, wall or ceiling heaters are popular in hospitality settings, and tabletop heaters are effective for close-range warmth.
How Much Does an Infrared Patio Heater Cost?
The price of infrared patio heaters varies depending on the model, power, and features. Basic models start at around €35, while advanced models with remote controls and wider heating ranges can cost several hundred euros. Additionally, we offer luxury infrared heaters from Heatsail, with prices reaching up to €4,000–€5,000 for top-of-the-line designs.
While the initial investment may be higher than for traditional patio heaters, long-term savings in energy and maintenance with electric models make it a wise investment. Energy costs should also be considered when choosing a patio heater.
What Should You Consider When Buying an Infrared Patio Heater?
When selecting the right infrared patio heater, consider factors like power (measured in watts), heating range, and heater placement. Durability, maintenance needs, and suitability for your outdoor space are also important.
