A corner electric fireplace: style, luxury, and ease
An electric corner fireplace is a master of space-saving and creating a cozy focal point. By placing the fireplace in a corner, you make smart use of a space that would otherwise stay empty, all while enjoying a warm and realistic flame effect.
Installation and building of a corner fireplace
Installing an electric corner fireplace is generally straightforward. The fireplace only needs a power connection—a standard wall socket is usually enough. There is no flue or chimney required, which makes the installation incredibly flexible. You can place the built-in fireplace in a custom-built surround or a false wall, integrating it perfectly into the corner of your room.
When designing your surround, it is important to keep the dimensions of the fireplace and the necessary ventilation in mind (if the fireplace has a heating function). We recommend making the surround out of non-combustible or fire-retardant material. Although electric fireplaces don't produce real flames, this is a safe best practice for a professional finish.
Placing a corner fireplace in a cinewall
A very popular choice is the cinewall with a corner fireplace. To do this, start by sketching your cinewall and leave space on one of the sides for the fireplace. Make sure there is enough room on the side that remains open, so you have a beautiful view of the flames from every angle.
Ease of use and flame effects
Using an electric corner fireplace is just as simple as any other electric model. You usually control the fireplace with a remote or via an app. Within seconds, you’ll be enjoying the cozy atmosphere. Many models offer adjustable flame colors, sound effects, and often heat. In short: you can control your fireplace right from the comfort of your chair!
Maintenance: virtually worry-free
One of the biggest advantages of an electric fireplace is the minimal maintenance. Unlike a traditional fireplace, you don't have to chop wood, clear out ash, or deal with an annual chimney sweep. This ensures a clean and safe experience.
Maintenance for your electric corner fireplace is generally limited to:
- Dusting: Occasionally wipe the glass and the decorations (logs or pebbles) with a soft, dry cloth to keep the flame image crystal clear.
- Checks (optional): For models with water vapor technology (like an electric water vapor fireplace), you will need to refill the water reservoir after about 8 hours of use and clean the transducer (also called the atomizer) once a month according to the manual.
Frequently asked questions about electric corner fireplaces
Can an electric corner fireplace really heat my room?
Yes and no. Almost all electric corner fireplaces have a heating function. You can set this with the remote, and it often works with a thermostat. You set it to your desired temperature, and the fireplace blows out warm air. However, corner fireplaces are not a direct replacement for central heating. The warm air is a pleasant bonus, but it won't heat an entire large room on its own.
Is an electric corner fireplace safe for small children?
Yes. Our corner fireplaces are equipped with a glass front panel. This makes it impossible for children to touch the interior. While the glass might get smudged by hands, it is easily cleaned with a dry cloth.
How do i decide which side of the corner fireplace to leave open?
This depends entirely on the corner where you are installing the fireplace. Most fireplaces are supplied with one front glass and two side panels. During installation, you can choose to install just one side glass (for a 2-sided view). If you ever move the fireplace to a new home, it’s a good idea to have kept both panels so you have options for a new setup.
